A quorum of FLO members and Directors were present.

Introductions: No introductions were made since everyone knew each other.

Treasurer's Report - Andrea Willer
The treasurer reported that FLO received income of $15,935 and had expenses of $14,331 during 2025. That leaves us with a current balance of $11,224.
We had a good income despite 2 less events. Although park fees increased we also increased our fees.
We renewed our admin software license for 3 years so there will be no charge here in 26/27.
Andrea raised the motion to drop the 'group' price and just charge the standard fees. This was seconded by Ray and passed unanimously.
Andrea has created a new form to use when someone pays cash at the registration desk.
After analysing merchandise sales she suggested we do not reorder the drawstring bags or bumper stickers.
She is also looking into new designs for stickers and T-Shirts.

Membership - Mike Dempsey
As of December 15 we had a total of 54 members consisting of 35 individuals and 19 couples/families. 11 of these are Life memberships. This is a good increase from last years' 29 members. A total of 9 members are also members of OUSA (7 individual, 2 family) plus 7 Junior members.

OUSA Charter Renewal - Mike Dempsey
Based on the OUSA method for counting we have 73 'members'.
The $20 re-charter fee plus a total of 1669 starts [at $2 each] brings our OUSA charter renewal fees to $3358. These fees were remitted by the treasurer in early January 2025.

Old Business:

Mapping Status/Plans
Markham Park and Lake Louisa South have been re-mapped.
New maps have been created for Dunns Creek, San Felasco Hammock and Gemini Springs.
The UCF map has been 90% field checked.
ONF North and Tillis Hill have been partially field checked.
Croom South and Princess Place have been base mapped only. PP still has limited use area.
Lake Yale Baptist CC has requested a map - possibly to use for digital field work training and then to use as a permanent course.

JROTC discussions
506 cadets are expected to attend the nationals at San Felasco on March 14/15. This event is open only to those teams that have qualified. FLO helpers may run the instructor course if desired.
We need to sort out the logistics for getting cadets to the model training area to the south.
We will use the 'cloud' start clock that was trialed at Lake Louisa.
It was suggested that we run a separate event using the same courses a week or 2 later that would be open to the public and other JROTC teams.
We need to contact the schools to reduce numbers for Croom due to the new 250 headcount limit.

Technology
We currently have plenty of stations, plus an additional 15 from FLX that need new batteries.
We recently purchased 30 new fingersticks but have already sold all but 7 of these.
We are currently using our new Surface Pro 6, along with Blaik's own Surface Pro 6, for both mapping and events.
We bought 6 GMRS radios that have better range than the old ones.
We currently have 54 good flags with sockets and lines and 32 fiberglass and sticks. In addition we have another 24 that are 'OK'.
We also purchased a new timming tent to replace the one that was 15 years old.
Blaik is looking into a new satellite internet option. This would cost $299 for the antenna plus $50 a month - only during our season. The biggest issues here are that it requires a clear view of the sky (no tree cover) and it draws 25-40W power.
The use of new 'proximity' sticks was discussed. These new sticks cost 3x our current sticks so it was decided not to pursue this option.

MapRun
3 new permanent courses have been added in Markham Park.
We now have almost 100 ROYO courses that use proximity punching - no flags in the woods.
ROYO courses can now be paid for thru Zelle. That has brought in $200 in the past 6 months.
A maprun tutorial is now available on the website.

Livelox
Livelox participation averages 60-70% with 80% at some venues.
FLO and SOAR still account for a large % of users within the USA.

Training
Blaik has now taught 20 intro, and 8 intermediate, classes at REI.
The classes include an optional, instructor led, demo course at Mead Gardens. Joannie also created an intermediate course for guided instruction at LBE.
Blaik is now training about 250 students a year.
We may offer a training session for the Wekiva Wilderness Trust.
We have also recieved enquiries from REI in Gainsville.
A new training guide has been added to the results page on the website.

New Business:

Software
Blaik has set up accounts on Monday.com for each of the board members. This will be used to track all the info required for planning and running events. The base system is free for up to 10 users of non-profits. Some features are external and may have a cost if we use those.
REI participants can enter their own info into Monday.com - these do not count towards the 10 users.
We can use GetSign to collect liability waivers. We would be charged $55 for the month when all the JROTC cadets signed their waivers. Otherwise we can use up to 15 per month for free.

Digital Mapping
We are now using a P7 Pro GPS. This gives us 50cm accuracy.
The new OCAD Sketch phone app allows anyone to make notes directly on the map, while in the field, then upload to the mapper to update the actual map.
We are also using a new beta version of the OCAD app which allows direct updates to the map while in the field.
There is a new 'slope gradient' available in LIDAR which outlines everything from ground level to 2m - Fences, Thickets and Tree stumps, etc.
LIDAR is shot in large swathes. It then takes 2 years to process and publish. The LIDAR we are currently using is from 2018/19 so things may be quite different now.

Phishing
Board members are now recieving a large number of Phishing emails. Members should not reply to any emails unless they are sure that they are legitimate.
We will add a new 'info@FloridaOrienteering.com' email that is forwarded to Ray. All other contact emails will be removed from the website.

Elections
Andrea nominated Sarah Agagas as a new board member at large.
Jerry seconded this and the nomination was approved unanimously.
